Dr Sarah Howe, PhD
I have been writing grants and tenders, social and environmental impact assessments and research reports for businesses, universities, schools and welfare agencies for over ten years, in Australia and the United States.
I have also spent a further decade working for ALP politicians, local government and the community sector, in the development of social and economic programs to address social issues such as high unemployment and child poverty on public housing estates in inner Melbourne.
Most recently, I completed a Ph.D. at RMIT University which addressed strategies for industrial policy and regional economic development in regions in Europe dominated by car industry manufacturing and approaches to economic diversification led by the European Union.
I have served as the Deputy Chair of Victorian Fabians and as the National Convenor of the Co-operatives Policy Group for the Australian Fabians. I have also been an active member of the Victorian Executive of the Australian Fabians since 2019, overseeing state publications and organising many events focused on labour market and industrial issues.
